Postpone approval to Dec 2003 meeting

President’s Report: Mark Greenstein

1.        CE forms for Sept. 2003 and Oct. 2003 recently sent to NYSCHP office. Inform membership CE certificates will be forthcoming. 

2.        Membership refund to individual chapters will be ½ amount received in the past.  This is contingent on the NYSCHP state Org. meeting it’s financial goals. 

3.        Mark to outline the duties of a delegate to the NYSCHP Annual Assembly.

1.     Contacted Jake McCarty Bureau of Controlled Substances and Peggy Judge Office of Professional Discipline for May 2004 meeting.

Legislative Report:  Marv Knoeck

1.        Discussion of new NYS patient counseling regulations.

2.        Discussion of federal level regulations regarding LTC facilities with no pharmacy on site. Regarding some sort of controlled (Pyxis like) dispensing system. NYS must make adjustment to meet federal guidelines, currently seeking comments on such. 

3.        NYS has implemented a ban on Ephedra products.

1.       December 2003:  Alaris may sponsor a program on pumps.  Lorraine’s is scheduled.

2.       January 2004:  Aventis approached Mark about doing a program on antibiotics (gram positive infections).  It is prepackaged – they would provide 1.5 hours of CE. Location wil either be Mario’s or Strathallan.

3.       February 2004 Roche ? , Mark will send a letter of inquiry.

4.       March 2004- Open

5.       April 2004: Jane Sunberg is scheduled, Location- Woodcliff

6.       May 2004: NYS OPD and Bureau of Controlled Substances, Location -?
